I guess no tracking available for it either. Sometimes getting through customs can take some time, but I doubt it would take this long. Would be funny if it's been sitting at the local post office for the last week. Had that happen before, and got to watch it since I could check the tracking. Went "out for delivery" 3 times before they finally actually delivered it. Even called them after the second and they had no idea what I was talking about. Turns out they set it out for the driver to take, and he forgot to grab it 3 days in a row. Don't have the same driver anymore, but now mail doesn't get to my house till 8pmish. If it's not one thing it's another lol.

OK guys, I just sent Nigel a message. I dbl checked my address that I sent to him.............................

I left off the ZIP CODE!
well, easy enough for our postal service to access that by city and state info, and since the area I live in does not have a lot of zip codes [defined by populations concentration], it should not have hurt things, BUT...............there are occasions where mail with insufficient address info is sent to a research center. they usually move that mail back out for delivery within 12-24 hours but................................OMG. I sincerely hope I have not cocked this thing up!!!!

I apologize in advance Nigel!

I am sitting here red faced in TN, USA

That sucks. If it's still going to make it I could see that maybe adding an extra week at most, but past that I'm wondering if something else is going on. Unless they are being real anal about it and already sent it on it's way back. Quick google search shows answers ranging from being stuck in eternal limbo at the post office to returned to sender if the postmaster is a jerk to getting there a day to a week late. Since it's missing the zip code it would have to be sorted by hand, and with the people that work at the post office around here that is just asking for trouble. Hopefully around you it's not that bad.

My ex worked part time at a postal research center locally. they received the "error" addressed mail as a digital image before it ever went to a local post office for sorting. each person sat at a terminal and corrected addresses on a screen which was like an electronic conveyor belt streaming by [Mail is now scanned/photographed and sent to a research center if the computer cannot sort the address]. good researchers can re-address thousands of pieces of mail and authorize its delivery in a single shift. the center where I live employed over 800 staff in 24 hour shifts. SO, the mail or package is on hold and the address is electronically corrected and the mail/package receives the new label and resumes its delivery. No one is standing over actual pieces of mail doing anything by hand. its amazing if you think about it..

theory is, IF THE LACK OF A ZIP stopped the package, it stayed at the initial location of receipt rather than being sent all over the place. As soon as the package is electronically "researched" and "corrected", then it is released to go on its way. Clearance time to resume delivery is supposed to be 12-24 hours per the guidelines.................but, who knows?

I hate to write this, but this is what the post master told me today-----He said that if the package arrived in the US w/o a ZIP CODE, it would have been sent back, and that Nigel should have already received it back according to the dates I provided. I feel like a TOTAL idiot! I owe everyone an apology, but most of all Nigel--I am sooooo sorry.

Don't beat yourself up about it Ted, these things happen

I'm sure between us all we can figure something out. I'm willing to send something from my stash for you to build but I'll wait and see what Nigel says first

Thanks Pete. I actually did some reading online last night and some USPS sources say that the service attempts to forward that mail. IN my situation, there is only ONE zip code for my city/state combination. AND, the city name---Ooletwah [American Indian name?] is unique. I would do pretty much anything to continue in the SIG, including ordering a "designated" kit [Designated by Nigel of course] to use in the build.

Sorry for a slight delay in replying, my health is in free fall...but I am at a loss as to what's happing with this delivery.
If they say they return the package if it has no zip code then I would definitely have received it by now.
I have certainly not received any thing with regards to the package.
Ted don't be beating yourself up about this...did you solve the clues ?

I believe you get deliveries on saturday...so let the next few days go by and I will come to a decision on Monday.
I do have a photograph of the box but reluctent to show it yet...

...I just thought....and don't take this the wrong way...but if someone, for any reason, has opened the package to check the contents, an is an American, will instantly fall in love with this model kit...I'm not going to say anymore.

Nigel,

Actually I am still pretty lost about the ID of the kit. I am glad to follow your suggestions and I still feel positive that it will appear at my house! I would like to offer an alternative if it comes down to it. Sounds like the kit is irreplaceable?
BUT............if you know that it IS available or that there is a similar kit or good alternative, I would be fine to order anything you propose and pay for fast shipping. No problem with that at all from my position. I will await your instructions and keep checking for the kit on my porch!! Wishing you whatever health and strength that you can have my friend.
