My daughter is scared of it lol, she doesn't like it all, she's only still quite young so I guess for her it's the stuff of nightmares lol

Very, very nice Pete. I got one tip for next time and that's it. If you were to have run a really thin wash of the base color over the veins you would have made them appear under his skin. I bet that had crossed you mind too.  [wink]

Amazing painting here Pete. The complexity in which you went into this paint job is astounding. Would you have done anything like this before? I must know.  [smile]

Thanks Mike,

The veins are the only bit I don't really like, i wish I had painted them in before I did the shading (like the minion) but it's too far along to change now, if I could do it over I think I would leave them in the base colour.
I thought that it needed some extra colour, but with hindsight I was wrong lol !

And the answer to your question is no lol ! I have had this figure kicking around in box forever but just didn't think I was capable of making a decent job of it, but my confidence is growing fast now and I think i have got my head around the fundamental techniques, I just need to practice more so I can refine them.
I have been reading about a painting effect called non metalic metal and I really like how it looks. As I'm on a roll at the moment im going to give it a try, it looks like it will be really good practice for shading and blending too

Yes, you're more than ready for that and I'd really like to see you tackle it. Now that I have an AB that is good to go I may finally get to try it for myself lol.

It's not too late to change anything on the fig Pete. Corrections are part of our hobby lol. Make some minor changes, I don't mind and if Nigel agrees and nobody has any objections then that will be okay to do unless otherwise mentioned in the next GB rules. After all, we need to learn how to make corrections. They are part of our hobby.

Perhaps that's part of the problem with our hobby? No one ever told me how to fix my mistakes. I had to learn that for myself. Makes sence that we teach other's how to correct mistakes so they don't give up on the first botched attempt and then, wait 20+ years before trying again.

But if you just want to move on then I digress lol. Sorry, I'm getting preachy huh? lol

It's ok Mike I'll leave this one as is, it doesn't look too bad when viewed with the old Mk 1 eyeball and I'm worried that trying to paint over them may end up with a total repaint lol ! I'll put it in the cabinet and move on to the griffon, I had better try and get stuck back into my Ju-88 to, if I don't watch it I will end up running out of time to get the whole project finished

Great work Pete, do you need a chainmail glove when using the paintpot? Looks devilish! Lol.
Your painting is inspiring me to think way outside the square with mine too. Plenty of time, we'll see what is conjured. [smile]

Thanks Simon,

It's really nice to do something a bit left field from time to time, and these kind of fantasy figures are ideal.
Go for it with yours mate and let your imagination run wild
