Neglected Kit Resurrection Groupbuild !!

for a little bit of something the other way round, rather than start a new kit like normal for a complete build how about resurrecting one of those kits you started more than a year ago, we've all got at least one lying around somewhere that just needs the right motivation to finish it off [smile]

Kit should be started more than year ago, any era, any genre, any scale so everyone can join in.
This could be a fun, half time length groupbuild with more modest prizes, perhaps a years free subscription as one of the prizes, or six months etc.

Maybe you could run it as the fun side bar GB whilst the big one is on the go [smile]

three classes could be -

Top Gun, best model overall.
Biggest Effort, for scratch building and dioramas.
Most original, the whackier the better.

Well it's just an idea and a good excuse to revisit unfinished works [smile]

Note to self, don't use smiley faces when setting up the polling !

Doh !!

I was hoping this might have been a bit more popular as an excuse
to finished old half started models that are cluttering up the cupboard
like so much rotten veg might have had a cathartic influence for us and
a little motivation in this direction would be just the ticket to get some
mojo going over these old models [biggrin]

probably would work best as a side salad comp though [smile]

haha, Daddies Sauce !!

Yeah I think this one is best served as a quick side salad, supply your own dressings [wink]

Although I reckon we should change most original to "Most Amusing"
just for the comedy category [biggrin]

Another idea for a quick side salad Groupbuild comp could be the -

"Cheap As Chips Groupbuild"

where it's an out of the box build of a kit that cost you less than £12 say,
no upgrade sets or PE, just whats in the box for some rapid build fun [smile]
Comps could be short and sweet with a single prize perhaps, although I
do like Bobby's "Most Original" category too, but you know, might be nice
to have two groupbuilds going on at the same time, the mini one and the
main event and this would be a great one for beginners to join in with too,
might help their confidence and skills, getting through a few models quickly
can be very satisfying too [biggrin]

there's always Google converter, but I imagine the number would be similar
10 or 12 pounds or Euros ish, whatever the general consensus is on cheap [biggrin]

perhaps this idea might need a separate poll ? [smile]

This idea has morphed somewhat since I first suggested it.

The idea I am rooting for now is the "Cheap as Chips"  which is a little GB
for more rapid builds, a junior class as it were [smile]

im in he same boat as Fabian, new to the scene and only built 1 kit, well 3/4s and i dont want to look at it for at least 6 months ! haha ... im up for the cheap as chips one though ... as a side subject along with the main groupbuild ? i guess we could just get a few of us together to do this without bobby having to give away a prize every month ?

I think we would need someone like Bobby to run it and
to be able to objectively arbitrate and judge etc.

Would love to know what Bobby thinks to the Cheap as Chips idea [smile]

If you like this idea you might prefer the Chip as Chips side salad proposal
where we could do things like a Neglected Kit Resurrection GB ... [biggrin] !
