The lego Ranch on Legs aint mine but I have got my old lego techniques out and I'm having a play with a few ideas for a mechanical puppeteer/animatronic to move the legs, I've just put together the first test "Thing" just need to find some batteries now ..........

Anyhow, I'm in the south Uk are you State side Mike ?

and no, tracks are gone, no need for them design wise, it's got legs for tough terrain and wheels for the streets [smile]

as for winning the GB, looks like everyone here is a serious contender !! [biggrin]

Haha Mike, I'd rather move to America [biggrin]

Cheers Ted [smile]
None of it works or moves, the only thing that is going to be posable is the barrel angle, up and down [smile]

Hopefully if everyone sent Bob their address, their "goods" are in the post? In the past there have been holdups due to the store/business getting all the items made.fingers crossed guys. Another thought---- I'm not "internationally savvy, but perhaps mail/shipping to different countries varies in efficiency??

I heard there is a big dispute with the cargo truck drivers at Calais getting fined for illegal immigrant stowaways they don't even know about and drivers getting beaten up by said stowaways which has caused some consternation ... perhaps that's had effect...
I hope everyone gets theirs soon [smile]

I've been messing about with the Lego Technics and I reckon I've come up with a simple method for walking mechanism that I might be able to make it RC and steerable [smile]
But it means ditching the transformable aspect of it though, unlike the "puppet system" mechanics

A little bit more creative inspiration, well I have to put these links somewhere [smile]

I like this one as it is kind of what I have in mind for the RC legs, except I have come up with a different leg mechanism but I really like the mechanics on this, simple but effective ! [smile]

Paul,
All very interesting. I guess my question is---you are going to apply some of this tech to your build? Or did you write earlier that just the barrel will move up and down? I'm crossed up....kinda my natural state.

haha, the Progvev T-55 is the one with the up and down posable jet cannon, this T-64 is going to be mecha, with legs, which I think I can make work with RC.
I'm just playing with the ideas of the mechanics at the moment, in lego, the videos inspired me to get all my lego out [biggrin]

I've come up with a couple of ways of doing it but in the video is a genius way of doing the legs, 1 input with 2 outputs, campact with a good foot loci, genius ! [smile]
So I am playing with that at the moment, I reckon I've got enough lego for an eight legged spider, think I gotta build one now [biggrin]
Distractions ! [biggrin]

OK, I guess I lost track of the sequence? I need to go back and look through the WIP. So you are doing two builds in this WIP? I check it out again. Thanks.

Nope, this will be one model, "The Zapushki" [smile]
which is going to be a "Highly Modified" T-64 with legs, at first I was thinking I can make this a transformer style but now that I'm exploring mechanical legs with Lego I'm thinking RC, battery powered walking tank, it won't be able to do the transforming thing but it will actually walk [biggrin]

The Progvev T-55 in my other build, "What's The Weirdest Russian Vehicle Of All Time ?" is going to be a two in one build as I will swap the turrets over for different photos etc. [smile]

all quite simple really [biggrin] [biggrin] [biggrin]
