I'm certain now (as Mike has said many times) that if you follow your instincts that the results will be fantastic

I do understand what you mean.

I've gone back to doing models that require no pressure. The one's I have in my stash that I really want to do. I know I can't finish the group builds in time, but I will finish them.

In some way I've made my hobby into something with a lot of pressure. I'm going to step back and gain control of my relaxing hobby. Doing an Airfix model, with flash on the flash, is a nice challenge. Lol

I agree it's a hobby and it has to be fun, this is why these days I don't get bent out of shape over accuracy, I much prefer doing things artistically and just trying to capturee the look and feel of the real thing.

Just build to please yourself mate, you can't go wrong that way

Pete

Edited due to my lack of attention in English lessons at school leading to cold blooded murder of spelling and comprehension

Pete, you've got nothing to lose. Listen to your other half....

What's the worst that can happen...okay no prize...but your work will be seen by thousands of modellers...pics all over the place...magazine covers...videos...films (oh they've done that).

It's the fact that you've had a go.

I'm certainly entering this Crewman into a show. If I win something, then I win something...if I don't, then I don't. What the hell...at least I tried.
The biggest difference is that you have a fantastic Phantom as a backup...

JUST DO IT !

(If you don't I shall send Lisa a large wet mop and a bikini...if you do then just the bikini [smile] )

Lol ! I'll have to see what occurs come Telford time, I need to sort out my IPMS membership though and keep a keen eye on those seams.

Do it Pete! I entered one of mine [the sturmtiger] in our local show this past February and won a "silver" award. small and not related to the serious show awards, but when I display the model, I can attach it to the base? 15 min of fame?
Your work is exceptional--you know it, we know it, now let the rest of the world know! Its like that crazy scary roller coaster or a chilly lake, jump in and get it over with! best wishes either way. We give you "best in show!"

I hadn't realised you were so good at figures Nigel, really nice work once again !!

I am really glad I have taken an evening off my own projects to explore the forum more tonight,
been meaning to do it for a while and I am so impressed by the sheer plethora of excellent works
that abound here in the forum  !!

Your 1/10 bomber pilot has totally blown me away,
man oh man I never realised just how god damn talented you are !!
but now I know [smile]

Tonights exploration of the forum has been quite the education,
I'm going to bed now to sob into pillow at my craptitude [biggrin]
Humbled but inspired [smile]

Thanks mate...took me a long time to get to that level, but I still want to go that extra step.

I'm a little tied up at the mo, but I agree there is a lot of great work hidden within the vaults.
I've tried to get Bob to allow us an area where we can just show pictures of our work, with links to the actual build...a visual catalogue of members works.

I shall still persue it.

A similar idea might be a button to view just the pics within a given thread or forum as well,
kinda like a picture search or something, one might call it the "Gallery Mode" [smile]

it was your 1/10 Bomber pilot that totally blew me away though, that was another level altogether,
I just don't how you could improve on that level of skill, it look just perfect.... stunning skills indeed !!

Figure painting does seem to have something particularly demanding about it, very difficult subject to get spot on.

this one blew me away though Nigel, I thought it was a photo !!
