Now we are talking, have some of these in my Necron Legion. Read and study the instructions very carefully. Are you doing the Command Barge or the Annihilation Barge ? Juan, if you need any help don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you Nigel... I've been staring at the thing trying to decide if I should build the Necron Lord and go for the Annihilation Barge, BUT one thing is for sure, I better get really good at modeling Necrons because now I've got a whole load of them (Posted on the Current situation thread) The instructions are a bit modest (to say the least), but I have been thinking on doing a metallic finish on the Barge (Duraluminium more than likely) instead of Black... We'll see, the present week is a very busy week for me, but as soon as I have two days off in a row I intend to get crackin'

You could well be right Nigel, Juan mentioned a metalic finish (duraluminium ?) so black would be a good base for that I reckon too Pete

I decided to use a White primer because the base color is going to be bare aluminum and the soft backing makes it pop out better... For the base, I'm planning on using a charcoal-ish finish, the duraluminum and copper accents are for the barge. Forced to prime before gluing, since the cape (Which holds the whole miniature together) is going to be Gold.

Already got a couple booboos and you guys were right, I should've used black primer... Ironically, I didn't have enough Gold paint, and just realized I'm missing the Necron Green (Moot green?) and the wash (not sure of the name, but I think is called Gryphonne Sepia or Badab Black?)... Or should I use the panel line wash LOL... Will work on the base tomorrow, and try to visit the local store to see if they have the Gold paint (this way the base coats will be done and the figure glued while the missing wash gets here). Scratch that... I was trying to find color codes used on a video from 2012, when I came back to Bobby's tutorial, I found the washes needed are in the shade stock... Boink!!!

Using any thin brown wash will work fine on gold, and as a tip I tend to use silver as the edge highlight...gives it a little glint. looking good though.
