Great to see you back in the seat again Ted and I like where you are heading with this build, will we be seeing some rust effects farther along the road ?

Are they razor cases?

They actually do look like manifolds, but Gerry wins and I am BUSTED! The podracer project used parts from a defunct cake decorating set. Not sure if I am stepping up or back? Razor cases definitely more manly? Thanks guys.
Almost forgot, I've done minor electrical work for years, but I was traumatized by a 220V current long ago and have never gotten over it.

Thanks. I keep a lot of plastic stuff. Throw it in a shoebox. I'll be using a lot of these items as greeblies on this build. Glued up and painted, all that stuff looks legit.

I knew I was forgetting something today---POST PICTURES! when I absolutely decided to add an engine to the build, I was in luck. The car kit had TWO complete engines and all items from under the hood. 2 radiators, 2 batteries, 2 sets of horns, 2 breathers, loads of hoses, 2 starters, etc., etc. I wanted the engine to look somewhat like a tank motor--huge, complex, crammed in . A few more parts to go and this area will be finished. I also wanted a tank-like muffler so I fashioned one from a piece of dowel and some kit sprue. There will be a heat shield. they look great when they are rusted/corroded, right?080717 montage by teddy ladd , on Flickrengine montage by teddy ladd , on Flickrmuiffler montage by teddy ladd , on FlickrMore later gentlemen!

I really appreciate that comment. and here is one more picture. after posting the other pictures I hit the bench! could not help myself.engine hose montage by teddy ladd , on FlickrThe hoses [which look like metal braided hoses-somewhat] are springs . I think you can pick them up in the hardware section of home stores. I guess that is where they came from--don't really recall. I cut small pieces of brass tubing [really small], drilled holes and CA glued them in place, then CA glued the hose to one end, then shoved the other end through openings around the engine--no glue needed on the other end. I also attached two of the ends to hose connectors on the water pump of the engine stryene part. Pretty easy stuff for the results??
