Hello,

To be completely honest with everyone, I originally had no intentions of joining this group build.  Post apocalyptic is not a subject I am very familiar with and I lack the imagination to create something totally out of nowhere.  Now having said that, while following the current threads in this GB and seeing the amazing work that is being produced, I thought maybe I'll give it a try.  So I took a little trip to my LHS in search of something that might jump out at me for this GB.  There was some futuristic spaceships, some cars and trucks and even a Rambo boat but nothing that really jumped out at me and then I found this......

..... It's not a big kit and it doesn't have a lot of parts (as you will see in the sprue shots) but as soon as I saw it I pictured this thing perched on top of some floats with missiles, bombs and machine guns all over it.

I don't really have a master plan for this it's more of an idea.  I'm going to start by building the kit, putting it on floats (I have something in mind for the floats) and then from there I'm just going to start adding things until it looks apocalyptic to me.  Not sure where this will go but I'm looking forward to it.

  Here are the sprue shots....

.... as you can see, there are 2 sprues for the V1 piloted bomb, 1 sprue for the dolly and a clear part and PE belts, that's the entire kit.

Thanks for looking and I can't wait to get started,

nice idea, interesting to see where this one goes,
this is a model kit I'd quite like [smile]

Somebody did a civilian sports version of an Me262 on floats, looked rather dashing [biggrin]

Well, a couple more goodies were dropped of at my door yesterday.  They might not look like they belong but can you guess what I'll be using for the floats/pontoons???  I also don't know exactly how or where I'm going to use the tires but they were on sale and I figured I could fit them in somehow.

I think I have most of what I need to start the build but unfortunately, I'll be away for a week or so but I'm looking forward to starting when I return.

Thanks

I sense a whacky warbird moored to a wooden jetty diorama coming along [smile]

Great idea and great thinking to take the apocalypse idea to water.

Pauls jetty suggestion is a good one as you could incorporate those diorama items on it and also maybe some figures ?

Pete

PS

Since I signed on the forum has had a colour change, anyone else seeing it too or is it just me ?

So after some time away and just having not spent anytime at the bench, I finally got started on my build.  The kit itself will be a very quick build, a total of 3-4 steps and it's done.  So far I have most of the parts off the sprue and cleaned up, I got the interior painted and all that is left to do before I can close it up is I have to paint and attach the PE seat belts.

As you can see at the top of the first picture, I have the floats/skiis ready and I'm looking at different options on how to attach them the to the main vehicle.

I'm also thinking of doing this as a diorama, my thought is the vehicle stopped at a dock loaded with supplies.  Not sure how it will turn out as diorama's have never been my thing but then again, neither has post apocalyptic.

Anyways, thanks for looking and hopefully more soon.

You will sort it all out I am sure. Just think on it and see what comes up/out!

Thought I'd share an idea [smile]

I'm picturing a tiny floating island jetty with a door at one end that goes down into the submerged part
like a floating house with only the jetty sticking above the water surface.
That way the water can surround the entire piece and thus frame it, so to speak [smile]

will there be figures ? [smile]
