Hello,

I'm looking to make a heavily weathered Corsair like this one:

http://hsfeatures.com/features04/images/f4u1d72rf_11.jpg

My question is about sun fading decals. I've heard about using a thin spray or even sanding (?!?!) the decal?

Any suggestions or examples? I've not seen this in any of Bob's videos yet, but I've only seen a couple.

Thanks,
Seth

I got really good results with enamel thinner. Just carefully and tender wipes with cotton swabs moister in enamel thinner. (with decals still on the decal paper). Then, just cut it and apply it as ussually.
If do it carefully, you will have nice faded decals looking like they was painted.

Some people use sandpaper, 8000 grid or higher, but IMHO ,enamel wipe does better effect.

In the end, light coat of overall color to blend it nice.

Will an enamel thinner such as White Spirit work, or should I get a specialized thinner?

I'll give it a go with some old decals I have, thanks!
