What started off as a fun little Sci Fi scratch'n'bash build has ended up becoming another kind of project altogether.

Due to numerous requests to kit this and other designs I feel obliged to at least try to make this happen [smile]

Anyhow, my finished model, probably over did the weathering in the end
but I was having fun with my oil-enamel washes [biggrin] Plus ! I'm still learning,
I really enjoyed this build though, kit bashing can be great fun [smile]

Whatever happens with this idea though, I thought it would be fun
to ham it up to the maximum with some advert like presentations.

Most modellers build what's in the box but for this GB I wanted to try and think outside the box and
decided to scratch build the box instead [biggrin]
so one for the box, made from cereal packets "e"Special K"lly" for this [biggrin]

Thank you for everyones support and encouragement, hugely appreciated [thumb]

This came out great Paul !

Looks great with some weathering on it and the box is inspired mate !

What a fantastic display idea p, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it before and it's so well done it could be a real box.

Brilliant job all round buddy, now just wait and see which model company will be the first to rip off your inside the lid backdrop idea lol

Pete

Edited to try and at least make an effort to spell correctly

This project probably wouldn't haven't happened without your encouragement
so a big thank you for the encouragement and awesome comments guys [thumb]

Fabian - - "Can't wait to find your kit in my local hobby store ;-)"
yeah me too !! with a bit of luck and a lot of hard work [biggrin]

Pete - - "now just wait and see which model company will be the first to rip off your inside the lid backdrop idea lol"

if they do does mean my ideas are worth something ?[biggrin] [biggrin] [biggrin]
just as long as they don't my WW2.1 idea, but for the mass manufacturers out there it means more printing expense etc.
but for smaller guys though, they might nick it not that I mind, t'would be a nice compliment in some ways [smile]
I'm old enough to remember getting cut out figures and scenery with cereal packets as a kid and that was kinda in the back of my mind too when I thought of this, but I really I just wanted to ham up this presentation to the max, say Cheese !! [biggrin]

Sorry Steven I didn't even think to include the box in the build thread, doh !!
so here's a quick mockup of what that photo might have looked like [biggrin]
And yeah, I like a dirty bird too [wink]

And I thought I would chuck a wee reminder of the journey this model took to get here from a 1?72 Airfix Bf110 [smile]

I would love if some kit manufacturer would do so cool box as you have done! I admit to have purchased some models because of the box art.. Very much information on the top of the box, and the display base and background in the box, great! Sold one to me! And I love the kit too nice paint scheme and weathering, great overall!

Glad you like it Mr Batcode [biggrin]

Nice to know I might be treading in the right direction [smile]
still got lots to work on and improve though, I wish I was
a bit better at the subtler weathering techniques but
with practice and patience, hopefully [wink]
