I joined from the beginning and had a lot of workload keeping me from the bench. A 4 week extension would be beneficiary for me.
But what ever the decision is, i will comply. just without the diorama.

Actually a bit the same for me. So also yes please. I also was able to only join quite late as I had been abroad for work. But as Thomas also said, I will also comply with however the outcome is.

I think Brundledonk could do with an extension after he dropped his Ju88 on the floor.
He's made a good recovery though so far [smile]

anyhow nice to have a couple more votes, if there is only two finishers though I think the extension might be automatic [smile]

Im out of the GB all together, the GB curse put me out so im not going to vote on this, but extending it i think is slightly unfair on the guys that did finish, or changed plans due to time getting the better of them.

And just because the GB is over it doesn't mean you cant finish your kit.

Just my opinion

You make some fair points Steven, always good to have arguments for and against [smile]

But with only two models finished you can hopefully understand Bobbys dilemma.

But seeing as you were a part of it I think you should get a vote even if it is a No [smile]

Yes very definitely to a month's extension. Got to have a reasonable finish rate. 2 ain't.

I'm pretty sure that I can get mine finished before the deadline but I have no problem with Bobby extending the deadline to give the guys that need it a chance to get theirs finished, I for one would like to see a good few builds make it over the finish line

I will post my final pictures later today, with or without an extra month. There are just a few rules to this GB and a deadline helps me to get things done. I hope a lot of you guys can manage to finish those amazing builds so there is a great and inspiring collection of bombers in the final reveal section - and giving Bobby a hard time judging ;-)

generally there are a lots of posts the last weekend. Everyone taking up to the last minute to keep working on their display. I know I'll be doing the finishing touches on mine and doing the final post this coming weekend.

I understand wanting more time, I do this for fun and a challenge, never expect to win. However I could see someone being upset if finished on time, but lost to someone that needed the extra time.

Some good points being made here but without any No votes
so far it is difficult to guage the level of potential upset,

I would hope everyone casts a vote, Yay or Nay, so we can
have a true reflection of what the consensus is and I would
certainly encourage those who are against this idea to vote No [smile]

If we do get a time extension we could have the caveat of
the Top Gun prize can only be awarded to those who made
the deadline to even things up a bit perhaps [smile]

Seems like a reasonable compromise to me maybe.
Would that work for everyone ?

The way I took Bobbys proposal to extend the deadline was to ensure there would be enough completed builds to judge. At the time of the show there were only 2 (I think) completed.

I have no real concern on whether there is an extension or not as, I know I will complete mine with time to spare. However I wouldn't want to recieve a prize "by default" just because there were only 3 entries. I did have plans to build a diorama for my model and if there is an extension I will not use the extra month to get the base done, I will be posting my reveal pics before the deadline.

it would I think be helpful to hear from the other members who have still yet to complete their builds to try and gauge how many will make it in time, as Seth mentioned there is bound to be a flurry of activity over the last weekend before the deadline so an extension may not be needed.

Pete

Edit :

On reading back my post it looks Like I'm saying im going to win, I simply meant that if there are only 3 entries and 3 prizes that it's a no brainier.
I'm not so conceited to think that I will win anything lol !

I will probably not be able to finish by the due date but I knew beforehand that this might be the case. I have read some valid points here to which I can relate. I voted yes as I have been cutting corners trying to finish in time and some extra time would be nice. However, as it would seem, there will be more than two that will have finished in time so if there is a reasonable amount of entries ... To be honest, I am not really fussed about it as I will simply continue and keep posting anyway.

Whatever is being decided, is ok for me.

Cheers,
Wim.

I see both sides of this as well. I will have my build done this week and post final reveal pics shortly after. While I agree that those of us who will finish on time and understood what the time parameters would involve, it would be nice to also see more finished builds. Sounds like many of us will be done before the 2nd so this may be a moot point. Good luck to you all!

Ron.
